Upcoming Activities

 

The following events remain on the calendar year 2020 schedule and, except as noted, will be held at the St. Joseph Catholic Church Parish Activity Center [St. Joseph PAC], 700 East 26th Street, Bryan, TX:

 

March 7, 2020 Spring Baking Class - The class will be on "Kolache Baking" from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., at the St. Joseph PAC kitchen.  Stan Vitha, who is from the Czech Republic but now lives in Bryan, is the instructor for the class.  The easy way to register is online at https://whoozin.com/KHF-QFW-M4HR-M7WC.  Registration deadline is Friday, March 6, 2020.

April 19, 2020 Chapter Meeting - The primary purpose of this meeting is to award chapter scholarships.  The meeting is scheduled to be held at C&J BBQ, 1010 Texas Avenue, Bryan.

 

September 20, 2020 Chapter Meeting - This meeting is held to assure that logistical details for the Fall Czech Celebration are in place and participation in Brazos Valley Worldfest has been addressed. 

 

October 11, 2020 Fall Czech Celebration - This is an annual celebration of October as Czech Heritage Month.  The event begins with two Czech Polka Masses at St. Joseph Catholic Church, sung by The Taylor Czech Chorus in the morning, followed by a catered meal and a dance in the afternoon.

 

November 2020 Brazos Valley Worldfest - Date is TBD, but the chapter plans to again sponsor a booth as it has for many yeat.  The event is scheduled to be held at the Brazos County Expo Center in Bryan.

 

November 8, 2020 Chapter Meeting - This purpose of this meeting is to finalize details of the chapter Christmas Party, and in even-numbered years, hold an election of chapter officers to serve for the next biennium.

 

Fall Baking Class - Date is TBD.

 

December 5, 2020 Christmas Party - A Christmas Party is held at the St. Joseph PAC.  The party typically inludes a catered meal followed by a short inspirational program and special musical performances by chapter members including singing of Christmas carols in English and Czech [koledy].  There is also a traditional Czech ornament exchange.
