2013 Cultural Presentation - John Hus

The July 2013 chapter meeting featured a cultural presentation by Rev. Joseph J. Polasek entitled "John Hus: God's Faithful Goose". Bro. Joseph, as he is better known, was born and raised in Caldwell, Texas. He attended Texas A&M University where he received a BBA (1971) and MBA (1976), both in Business Management. He served his country in the U.S. Army Reserve (1972-1978). He and his wife, Mary (Schiller), were married in 1972 and have one daughter, Christie, and one son, Doug. They also have three grandsons and one granddaughter. After working for Gulf Oil Corporation in Houston and Texas A&M in College Station, Bro. Joseph sensed God's call to ministry and attended Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary. He received a Master of Divinity (1990) and was ordained in The Unity of the Brethren (1990). Following ordination, he served as pastor of both the Bryan/College Station and Snook Brethren Churches (1990-2010). At present, he continues to serve as Pastor of Snook Brethren Church.
