2013 Meeting & Cultural Presentation - Jean Blaha Davis
The September 2013 chapter meeting occurred on Thursday, September 19, 2013.at the IHOP in Bryan, Texas. The meeting discussed multiple upcoming events including 42 Game Night, the October BVCHS Czech Heritage Celebration, the Kolache Baking Class and World Fest. The meeting featured a cultural presentation by Jean Blaha Davis. Jean discussed her Czech glass collection and had several items on display. Her unique and artistic collection was a bit hit among those in attendance.
Jean began collecting in the late 1970s and has over 1,000 pieces in her collection. All of the items were collected in the United States. Jean was born in Dime Box, Texas. She left for 45 years but she and her husband Waymond have moved back to Dime Box. Jean currently serves as the Chairman of the CHS Trustees.
