BVCHS Offering Novak-Zaeske Scholarship

The Brazos Valley Czech Heritage Society will be awarding a scholarship in the amount of $500.00 to a graduating high school senior who exemplifies academic achievement, outstanding merit, and the spirit of volunteerism and leadership as evidenced through extracurricular involvement.  Students must be able to show that they currently are involved and have a desire to continue involvement in their Czech Heritage.  The scholarship award will be presented at the Brazos Valley Czech Heritage Society's May 2016 meeting; the recipient will be notified during the last week of April.


Eligibility requirements for the applicants include:  

  • Applicants must be a member or relative of a member of the Brazos Valley Czech Heritage Society

  • Applicants will be evaluated on extracurricular leadership and involvement in school, civic and community events. 

  • Applicants will be evaluated based on a written essay describing the individual's educational goals and plans for the future, as well as their current and past Czech cultural involvement.

  • Extra consideration will be given to applicants who have a genuine desire to continue their Czech cultural involvement with the Brazos Valley Czech Heritage Society by attending some of the club events, and having the goal of being a long-time member.

  • Applicant must include 3 letters of recommendation.

     

Applicants are asked to submit the completed Brazos Valley Czech Heritage Society - 2016 Scholarship Application Form and one-page essay describing educational goals and plans for the future to:
